I dnes zažívají zejména na východě republiky nadprůměrné teploty. V Praze to budou maxima na 4°C. V roce 1989 padl ovšem v metropoli pro dnešek teplotní rekord s hodnotoui +12,9°C. Mráz jak samec udeřil v roce 1788, kdy se pražané setkali s teplotním rekordem -20,4°C. Vánoce 2008  se podle všeho budou pohybovat kolem průměru, ráno -3 a odpoledne +2°C.
