Povodeň v severní Austrálii se rozlila na území přesahující rozlohu Francie a Německa dohromady. Voda zaplavila desítky měst a komplikuje pro Austrálii důležitý vývoz cukru. Záplavu způsobil déšť z tropického cyklónu Tasha, který zaplavil nebo odříznul od civilizace 22 australských měst. Voda se blíží také k městu Rockhampton, kde žije 77 tisíc lidí. Povodeň postihla kromě Queenslandu také státy Nový Jižní Wales a Severní teritorium.
