Větry Megi dosahovaly rychlosti 260 kilometrů za hodinu. S tajfunem dorazil na Filipíny prudký déšť, který vyvolal nebezpečné sesuvy půdy. Šlo o vůbec nejsilnější bouři, jakou Filipínci zažili za poslední čtyři roky. Největší nápor super tajfunu Megi nesla oblast Isabela, kde se utopili tři lidé. Počet obětí tajfunu se vyšplhal na deset.
