Koncem července zasáhly Severní Koreu povodně, nejvíce vody se přehnalo jižně od hlavního města Pchjongjang. Velká voda způsobila velké škody – smetla silnice, zemědělskou půdu a veřejné budovy. Letos se situace opakovala téměř na den přesně jako před rokem, to se také severní Korea potýkala s povodněmi způsobenými přívalovými lijáky a bouřkami.
