Vítr žene ropnou skvrnu směrem k Floridě

Sledujeme meteorologickou situaci v Mexickém zálivu v místě ekologické katastrofy. Vítr je v této oblasti velice proměnlivý, nyní tam fouká čerstvý východní o rychlosti 4 až 9 m/s, v nárazech až 15 m/s. Obloha je nad Mexickým zálivem oblačná, odpoledne se v oblasti čekají přeháňky a bouřky. Teploty jsou ale až ke 30 °C. Vítr začal, podle pozorovatelů, hnát ropnou skvrnu od nejcitlivějších oblastí mokřin na pobřeží státu Louisiana směrem k Alabamě a Floridě. Podle nejhorších scénářů by se mohla ropná skvrna dostat mořskými proudy okolo Floridy až k východnímu pobřeží Spojených států, což by mělo nedozírné důsledky.
